Suppliers are now offering specialised grades, technical support, regional supply chains and sustainability-branded products. The shift is from “bulk fluid” to “functional solution.”
In emerging markets cost remains critical, but in developed regions performance, longevity, regulatory compliance and service matter more. Companies that can serve both ends of this spectrum—economies of scale plus high-spec service—will lead the market.
